Troy McClelland

Commissioner, Port of Everett

 

Troy McClelland was elected to the Everett Port Commission in 2009. McClelland is a native of Yakima and moved to Everett in 1992. He has broad business experience and demonstrated success ranging from leadership of small and large programs with both start-ups and Danaher, a fortune 500 Company. He was the President and CEO of the Economic Alliance Snohomish County from 2011 to 2015.

Most recently, before joining Economic Alliance, he served as the Director of Corporate Procurement at the Fluke Corporation where he worked from 2002 to early 2011. Additional business experience includes management of global business lines, marketing, service operations and procurement.

Troy has an extensive military background. Navy roles have included facilities maintenance and contracting, management of new construction, Aide to the Navy’s Chief Engineer charged with management of the Navy’s global infrastructure, Commanding Officer for U.S. Navy Seabee Units, and as the Director of Engineering for the Joint Special Operations Task Force Philippines.

He is currently the secretary of the Washington Public Ports Association. McClelland has been active in:

  • Washington Aerospace Partnership
  • Puget Sound Regional Council
  • Vice President of the Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish County Board of Directors
  • Snohomish County Health Leadership Coalition’s Steering Committee.
  • Washington State University’s Advisory Council for the University Center of North Puget Sound
    Leadership Snohomish County board member.

Troy graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering and received a Master of Science in Engineering (Civil) from the University of Washington and a Master of Business Administration from the Foster School of Business, University of Washington.
