Hilary Franz, Executive Director of Futurewise, has more than 17 years of experience in land use planning and policy, infrastructure, and local and regional government.
Prior to coming to Futurewise, Hilary served as a local government leader, bringing together diverse coalitions of local, state, and national public and private entities and developing nationally recognized environmental policies and programs, in the areas of green building, affordable housing, transportation and green infrastructure, and clean energy.
Previously, she also represented local governments and non-profit organizations on a broad range of land use and environmental law issues, including the Growth Management, Shoreline Management, Endangered Species, and State Environmental Policy Acts.
She speaks nationally on issues of housing, transportation, environment, and health and equity. She has served on the Puget Sound Regional Council Growth Management Board, the Puget Sound Regional Council Economic Development District Board, and the Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council.
